Kelley Ford Owen wrote her masters thesis on the fresco by Correggio located in Parma, Italy, in the convent of St. Paul, the Camera di San Paolo.

Correggio's first major commission (February - September 1519) was the decoration for the ceiling of the private dining room of the abbess Giovanna Piacenza of the Convent of St. Paul. The fireplace is frescoed with an image of the Goddess (Huntress) Diana, and the ceiling is frescoed with complex iconography that relates both to Diana as well as the patroness herself.
